WORK

Posted by revolutionarmy at 06:51 PM on May 4, 2005 in .

I've been working lately and this site's been neglected abit.

Yet, here are a few updates:

1. Knil army is going on and has always been so, just that no one's really updated about what's going on. We're working on songs continuosly, working out the recording business and trying to get our stuff out excellently for you listeners out there.. if there are any.

2. The responsibility of bringing up www.knilarmy.com has been given to fatgirl and she will do whatever she likes with it to intepret whatever it means to her.

3. Basically, knil army's about us saying whatever we need to say and you intepreting it the way you intepret it. We're not like making music to please anyone but, we like love people.

4. AYA, the main organisation of where I work has a new website! Visit www.aya.org.my to take a look. Site re-designed by Rayson (no blog). They even have a cool working forum that's getting really active.

5. THINK Online is also up! But only for Beta-Testing. So please don't go there okay!?

6. Flatfish Communications (where I work) is also working on a new website with a new intern who recently join us. And a Flatfish Mob Blog is also coming up soon!

Right now, knil army's practising for a start up talkshow we're going to be featured in called Chin Up. <-- They are also a new program that's still only shooting their first trial run this coming Friday.

Life is getting more and more exciting!

Go ahead, kung-fu hustle me.

BEAR-GARDEN

Posted by revolutionarmy at 09:45 PM on April 11, 2005 in .

I'm totally obsessed with this one-girl band called Bear-Garden from Thailand. Her songs are totally addictive. It's hard to explain... you gotta hear it to understand. Ask me if you wanna know and I don't mind ordering a couple of CDs for you through e-mail as I'm totally impressed by the girl behind the band, Somsiri Sangkaew better known as June. I'd be thrilled to get in touch with her for you.

MAKING SENSE

Wilco - still marching to it's own beat.
WILCO - still marching to their own beat.

These guys are one of my most favourite music groups and I like the fact that they're the kind that you can follow progress on in a seemingly personal way. I follow Butterfingers too, in a similar way and if you guys (Butterfingers) ever read this, yea man I respect what you're doing and the way you guys are progressing as humans first then as artists. Selamat Tinggal Dunia kicks buntuts!

Here's an interesting review by Relevant on a Wilco Concert (with a crowd of only about 100 or less). Read.

And since I mentioned Passion in one of the last few posts...

Mel Gibson's religious blockbuster The Passion of the Christ won the Theater-Owners Film of the Year award. The movie was voted on by USA Today readers in balloting sponsored by the newspaper and the Coca-Cola Co.

VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE

Posted by revolutionarmy at 06:07 PM on March 18, 2005 in .

The unstable, violent political situation and Israeli occupation undercut children's development (Photo: Maureen Clare Murphy)

S. spent all of her childhood years and some of her adolescence with nine siblings: four brothers and five sisters. All of them lived in fear of their father, whose violence excluded none of them. Her father, rendered unemployed by Israeli closures on the Gaza Strip, only communicated with his children through physical and verbal abuse.

S. says not only did her father beat her constantly, but he encouraged her brothers to do so as well. She came to hate them all, she says.

S.'s story is one that is becoming increasingly common in Palestinian society. Statistics show that instances of domestic abuse have trebled in the years of the Intifada, and most experts agree that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Read more...

The Electronic Intifada (EI), found at electronicIntifada.net, publishes news, commentary, analysis, and reference materials about the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict from a Palestinian perspective. EI is the leading Palestinian portal for information about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its depiction in the media.
